NYE ~ Metal Rock Outfit

This outfit is inspired by a rockstar lifestyle. Here I’ve combined rich purples and cold-hard metal colored silver to create a look worthy of the rocker in all of us.

NYE – Cutout Dresses

Although Ciara has been a little hit or miss with her style this year, she’s definitely back and better than ever. This NYE look is inspired by her cutout dress look. You can also see Fergie and Paula Patton looking fantastic in similar dresses. This is the perfect shape for a feminine and curvy look.

Look of the Week: NYE – Freakum Dress

This outfit is definitely not for the faint of heart. If you’re looking to make a bold statement this NYE, try this fitted satin dress with zipper side slit by LaRok. I envision this dress somewhere on the strip in Las Vegas.

Halloween 2009

As usual, it’s about the time of year when I start looking for a Halloween costume. So, the Fashionista Today fam helped me choose in 2008, so it’s time to help me choose in 2009. Here are my potential options:

Casual Dresses Under $150

As a follow-up to some of yesterday’s work look, I thought I’d share some of my fave casual dresses. Most of these, you could throw on with a pair of tights, a knee-length boot or ankle bootie and jacket and be ready for the upcoming fall weather. Most importantly, all of these dresses are under $150, so they won’t break your bank – which always leaves plenty of change left over to invest in your fall wardrobe!

Item Of The Day – Appropriate Behavior Dress, Striped Cowlneck

Sasha Two Pistols requested that we post some blogs showcasing dresses that can translate over into the fall/winter season. As we like to make our readers happy, I will be posting just that this week. I’ll be focusing mostly on sale dresses for work and daywear. But I will also be posting one maxi dress look, one splurge dress, one classy evening outfit and one “freakum” dress (c) Beyonce. So, let’s start off with something cute and casual for work. Shall we? The dress is from Macy’s and is only $36.75!

Item Of The Day – Bib Necklace Follow-Up

Back by popular demand are more bib necklaces for fall. This is a follow-up from a post from June. I know that those of us that haven’t been able to invest and add one to our collection are still in a desperate search. These will look great with fall dresses and jackets. I actually just bought a rich magenta and burgundy necklace this past weekend, and am pleasantly pleased with my find. The featured necklace is from Banana Republic and is currently priced at $150. But I’m positive the piece will be on sale in the next 2-3 months if you can wait that long. LOL Check out some of the latests additions to fall’s rich collection of colors and jewels and let me know what you think

Rihanna Spotted in New York

So, we all know that Rihanna is the undisputed style champion on 2008/2009. I think we’d be hard pressed to find someone who’s edgy style is catching the eyes of papparazzi like hers. She was spotted Tuesday shopping in New York looking fabulous in this cropped black jacket and high waist khaki pants. I’ve given you two options for shoes here, either a flat or a pump. And both can be bought from Macy’s for less than $100. The crop jacket comes from Delia’s and is on sale for $19.99. The clutch is without a doubt the most expensive piece weighing in at $148. But, it’s so adorably worth it! Open the page for the gallery.

Item Of The Day – Kate Cusack Custom Jewelry

So, this will be the last entry this week about exposed zippers. I’ve really had a great time sharing all these pieces with you this week, and I wanted to share one more gem that I found. Kate Cusack is a costume and creative headdress designer. Well, she also creates this creative and diverse line of zipper jewelry. The most popular zipper pieces are her zipper flower pendants. All the pieces are a little more expensive than what I normally like to post on the site. But they are unique and one of a kind pieces that you can customize to your wants. I had to share them with my fellow fashionistas.

Look Of The Week – All Zipped Up

This week’s look has exposed zippers as its theme. It is also a follow-up from the Amber Rose inspired legging look of the week I put together a few weeks ago. The inspiration photo comes from Pattern Solutions. I love the gritty nature of the image, but also the raw feel from being able to see the stitching of the fabric. This definitely has an edge to it, but I think it’s one of my favorites so far. The vest is from Charlotte Russe for only $17.99. The leggings are from LNA for $105. But checkout the gallery for less expensive options. Tomorrow, I will be following up with more exposed zipper pieces that I hope you will all enjoy!
