If you know me well, you know that I love Revlon nail polishes. The polish is far more durable and the colors are more vibrant than OPI and Essie. Granted no one has a full color line like OPI, but whenever I paint my nails with OPI, the polish is chipping 3 days later or less. But when I use Revlon, a manicure usually lasts a full week. So you can imagine my excitement when I walked into Ulta and saw these really great scented nail lacquers. There are 8 great flavors to choose from and with names like Coconut Crush, Mad About Mango, Pretty In Papaya, Sublime Strawberry, Raspberry Rapture, Mon Cherry, Passionate Fruit, and Not So Blueberry how can you resist? Check them out!
So as you can tell from my most recent post about California, I’m in full vacation mode. Here is a cute little outfit with a maxi dress. I love maxi dresses because they are so versatile. In the spring you can pair one on with boots and a jacket and in the summer you can throw on a pair of flats and your favorite bangle set and head to the beach or to the fair or even dinner. The dress is from Harmony Lane and is currently on sale for $99. I love the floral print because it’s not too brilliant if you like a more muted color palate. And paired with the taupe flats and fringe bag, it’s perfect for a casual day out and about. Check out some of my other favorite maxi dresses for the season below.
This summer I’ve made the very, VERY hard decision to travel to sunny California to soak in some fun in the sun. Okay, so the decision was not @ all difficult. I’ve worked pretty hard over the past year, and it is much welcome and well-deserved. So of course I’ve already been shopping for great summer outfits that scream cool and casual. I hope you enjoy my latest creation based on the included outfit by Rihanna. I chose to go with a flat sandal instead of a heel so you could enjoy site-seeing in this great and casual look. Although Ciara has been a little hit or miss with her style this year, she’s definitely back and better than ever. This NYE look is inspired by her cutout dress look. You can also see Fergie and Paula Patton looking fantastic in similar dresses. This is the perfect shape for a feminine and curvy look.
As usual, it’s about the time of year when I start looking for a Halloween costume. So, the Fashionista Today fam helped me choose in 2008, so it’s time to help me choose in 2009. Here are my potential options:
As a follow-up to some of yesterday’s work look, I thought I’d share some of my fave casual dresses. Most of these, you could throw on with a pair of tights, a knee-length boot or ankle bootie and jacket and be ready for the upcoming fall weather. Most importantly, all of these dresses are under $150, so they won’t break your bank – which always leaves plenty of change left over to invest in your fall wardrobe!

Sasha Two Pistols requested that we post some blogs showcasing dresses that can translate over into the fall/winter season. As we like to make our readers happy, I will be posting just that this week. I’ll be focusing mostly on sale dresses for work and daywear. But I will also be posting one maxi dress look, one splurge dress, one classy evening outfit and one “freakum” dress (c) Beyonce. So, let’s start off with something cute and casual for work. Shall we? The dress is from Macy’s and is only $36.75!
Back by popular demand are more bib necklaces for fall. This is a follow-up from a post from June. I know that those of us that haven’t been able to invest and add one to our collection are still in a desperate search. These will look great with fall dresses and jackets. I actually just bought a rich magenta and burgundy necklace this past weekend, and am pleasantly pleased with my find. The featured necklace is from Banana Republic and is currently priced at $150. But I’m positive the piece will be on sale in the next 2-3 months if you can wait that long. LOL Check out some of the latests additions to fall’s rich collection of colors and jewels and let me know what you think
